Master (2022) with Regina Hall
Main Post:
Saw this on Amazon Prime today. Some good creepiness, but more a sense of impending doom, walls closing in on the main characters type of story.
Won't be for some that don't want to watch heavy racial themes, but I found it intriguing throughout with a conclusion that was fairly bleak and sad with all 3 main characters with different sad endings
Has anyone else watched? Thoughts?
Top Comment: Just watched this and really enjoyed it but it definitely felt like too many stories unsuccessfully weaved into one film. Am I correct in my interpretation of the ending that Liv basically gaslit and terrorized Jasmine into committing suicide since she knew it would help her get tenure? I'm also wondering what others think re: her race. Was she actually white and Rachel Dolezaling it, or was she dealing with an abusive mother who saw her Blackness as evil?
Just got Master Duel and what the hell…

I’m brand new to Yugioh but I’ve always thought the game looked cool. I grew up buying cards and collecting them as a kid and thought it’d be fun to try and learn the game but what the hell...
I bought a structure deck to start out with thinking “hey I don’t know how to make a deck but I’m sure I’ll be ok if I get a pre made one to start learning with”. But every single match I play I just get overwhelmed and defeated in a couple turns?. They go first and spawn in like 4 or 5 monsters and do several fusions in their first turns before I even put anything down and I’m just sitting there looking at my hand and looking at all the cards they have thinking wtf am I supposed to even do to stand a chance. Then I try to put my own cards down and they have like a whole row of trap cards ready to stop me from even doing anything. I wanna get into this game but it just seems impossible to even stand a chance against anybody with these decks that seem to just have these openers that leave me dead before I even start my turn?. Am I missing something or is this just what Yugioh is?
Top Comment: You are lacking a proper deck, skill and understanding. Thats normal when you start playing a complex 25 year old game. My advice: play through the tutorials in the 'solo' section of MD. They teach you the possible interactions through 'puzzles' where you get specific scenarios. They also reward you with gems, which are important for deckbuilding. Then, go to a site like masterduelmeta and check out the best decks. Look for budget decks. Decide on one and open packs that contain multipl E cards of your deck. After you spend your gems, destroy the cards you don't need and craft the ones you need. Now you have a somewhat playable deck! Play ranked mode and get a feeling for the chokepoints of your and your opponents deck. Dont feel put off by the learning curve, theres a wall to overcome but you can do it! Have fun
Is Master Duel Expensive/Playable non-meta.
Main Post:
I used to play yu-gi-oh a lot with my brother however after he passed he bequethed his collection to his Best Friend and as we could no longer play together I gave away my cards to. I have cerebral palsy and can't get out much and would love to play our decks again. I need to create Two decks 1 being Six Samurai and one being Chaos based. All I would like to know is If Master Duel will make this expensive and if I did would I just end up Meta crushed every game. I also wanted to modernise both decks (for fun) but with no new Single player game on horizon Master Duel is only option. I messaged the mods to ask if this topic was ok but recieved no reply.
Top Comment: Depends. Some old cards are randomly expensive, but you get some many resources early on that you can build whatever. If you wanna play ranked, you may get some games in the very low ranks, but once you get to gold people will start playing actual modern decks, which I'm sorry to say will beat out yours 100% of the time. You can find some group online to play casually, there are many out there.
How did you learn/master the game?
Main Post:
I just started getting into yugioh and Im trying to understand the game by playing master duels on steam. Honestly I find it really hard to understand all the effects and especially every monster to summon that is not a normal monster. Is there an easier way to understand the game?
Top Comment: Start by understanding how the basics work (How to Link, Synchro,Fusion,Xyz and Pendulum Summmon). After that it's only really about learning a few rules that are common to see. It probably takes a lot of knowledge to be able to master the game as I have 10+ years of experience in this game and I don't 100% know everything.
